Tuning the Bow

Psalm 127:4 says, "Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the sons born in one's youth." A skilled warrior knows how to use his arrow, but children can be difficult to teach at times. The focus of this podcast is to equip parents to tune their bow and become skilled warriors as they train their children to go into the world. Join Matthew Wilbanks, youth pastor at First Baptist Church in Pittsburg, TX, and Tim Rose, youth pastor at First Odessa in Odessa, TX, as they discuss family discipleship as the Bible teaches. Matthew grew up in the small town of Atlanta, TX surrounded by the beauty of pine trees and Friday night lights. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from Texas Baptist College and a Masters of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. As much as he likes sports and video games, his heart is set towards God and the students at FBC Pittsburg.

Tim Rose grew up near the floodlights of Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, OK. He eventually moved to Texas for college and has not left the state since. Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from Texas Baptist College and a Master of Arts in Christian Education with a concentration on Student and Family Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is husband to Mary, father to Silas and Eli, and smoker of every type of meat he can get his hands on. His serves at First Odessa as youth pastor and college ministry director.
